Our first fund party was hosted on August 28, 2012, by Kristie Nutt and Karly Smith at the home of Debbie Kaufman. Friends gathered for an evening of fun, food and fellowship.
Everyone enjoyed visiting in the lovely surroundings of the Kaufman’s home. The hors d’oeuvres were delicious and beautifully presented with lavish fresh flowers complimenting each area. As with most parties, guests gravitated toward the kitchen and family room to catch up with one another’s activities.
Dr. Barbie Sullivan, Executive Medical Director for Baptist for Women and partner in The Woman’s Clinic, shared details about fund for the girls. She provided information about why the fund was established, relayed compelling statistics about women in Mississippi, their mammography and breast cancer rates.
Guests were provided pledge cards to indicate their potential donation, but equally important, each guest was provided the opportunity to indicate her level of interest and support for the fund. As pledge cards were signed, fellowship continued.
Each guest received a “goody bag” filled with fund for the girls signature items along with gifts generously donated by Karly Smith of BellaChes.
The party created a lot of awareness, interest, enthusiasm and donations for fund for the girls. Over $10,000 was raised during this kick off event!
